Hotels

Hotel pools get really popular during summer months, especially for families when the kids are on break from school. Not all pools are kid-friendl,y though (Vegas pool parties, for example, are one place you want to avoid at all costs with little ones!), so we’ve compiled a list of some fabulous hotels with great kid-friendly pools.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: The Ellie Beach Resort
This Tapestry Collection by Hilton property is a great homebase for exploring Myrtle Beach and its many family-friendly attractions. There might be 60 miles of beaches in town, but this 4-star beachfront hotel has five different pools to choose from, a lazy river for lounging in the water and a splash pad where the kids can have fun playing in the waterspouts. There are also three waterslides, so you know the kids will have fun all day while you enjoy drinks by the pool and take in the sunshine.

Galveston, Texas: Moody Gardens
Galveston has tons of family-friendly attractions, but if you want a hotel offering absolutely everything in one place, head to Moody Gardens. It’s much more than a hotel, although the hotel itself is pretty great and has multiple pools to choose from, including a heated outdoor pool with a swim-up bar. But it’s also got an aquarium on site, a rainforest bio-dome, and, best of all, a waterpark right on the property.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico: Sandos Playacar
At Sandos Playacar, kids get so much more than just a kid-friendly pool experience. They get an entire waterpark right on the property. The hotel is all-inclusive and always runs great deals (they are currently running an offer allowing two kids or two teens to stay for free with their parents), so you can enjoy a Riviera Maya beachfront vacation with everything included (like mini golf, live entertainment and a wide variety of great food) for one price.

What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
