Not far from downtown Los Angeles is Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, an all-in-one destination with three great ways to introduce your little ones to the incredible worlds of art and nature during your family travel.
The Children’s Garden
This creative play space is an imaginative wonderland of fairy doors, animal topiaries and interactive water features. The space gives kids an opportunity to interact with their environment in a way that gets them excited about nature and the great outdoors.
The Conservatory
This greenhouse is designed to teach kids about the beauty of plants. Three different habitats, a rain forest, a cloud forest and a carnivorous plant bog, feature rare, unique and beautiful plants from around the word, like the corpse flower.
At-Home Fun
There are also plenty of fun ways to experience the magic of Huntington from the comfort of your own home. Story Time features a series of online videos, accessible through Huntington’s website, which feature staff members reading books for kids, while The Funtington offers a series of activity-based videos featuring sing-a-longs, cooking and art projects.
Tickets must be purchased ahead of time for weekend visits and are strongly encouraged for weekday visits as capacity is limited. Adult tickets are $25 on weekdays, $29 on weekends. Children aged 4–11 are $13 and children 3 and under are free. Discounts are available for seniors, students and active-duty military. The Huntington is closed every Tuesday.
