Most of the time when planning family travel, the plans revolve more around exploring a destination than the hotel. But sometimes a low-key day at the hotel is a much-needed break on vacation. Check out these hotels bound to keep kids entertained all day.
Located in Orlando, Florida, and one of the many resorts on the Walt Disney Property, Art of Animation is like a playground for kids. Guests can pick from a Little Mermaid-, Cars– or Finding Nemo-themed room to stay in. Each room is decorated according to the movie and has pictures of beloved characters. The resort also features three themed pools: the Little Mermaid-themed pool, Flippin’ Fins; The Cozy Cone Car-themed pool; and, lastly, The Big Blue Pool, the largest hotel pool of all of the Walt Disney World resorts. For the little ones, the Schoolyard Sprayground offers a little splash and play area. The hotel also features a playground, arcade and walking trail featuring some of your favorite movie characters.
Loews Royal Pacific Resort is located on the Universal Resort and offers plenty of fun for families on vacation. For an hourly fee, children ages 4 to 14 can participate in the resort’s supervised activities at the rkids camp. Families can also enjoy a day by the lagoon-style pool with outdoor activities like Ping-Pong and hula hoop competitions. After a long day, go to sleep in a Jurassic World Kids Suite where each room contains a separate kids’ room with Jurassic World-themed decorations.
Looking for a waterpark you can visit in the winter? Head to Camelback Lodge in the Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains for year-round family fun. During the winter, hit the slopes and then relax and play in the resort’s indoor waterpark! The waterpark features plenty of slides, a wave pool, lazy river and more. During the summer, take a ride on the mountain coaster, zip through the trees and enjoy the outdoor waterpark. If the weather isn’t great, the kids can also play at the resort’s arcade, climb the rock walls, try the escape room and more.
Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana
The best room in the hotel is The Pineapple, the Spongebob Squarepants-themed room. Live life under the sea in Bikini Bottom with Spongebob, Gary the Snail and more of your favorite characters. Guests can take advantage of the butler service, a private infinity pool and more. The all-inclusive perks also include meals, drinks, access to the kids club, courts to play sports and Aqua Nick waterpark.
