There are plenty of great reasons for family travelers to plan a trip to Edmonton, like visiting Galaxyland, North America’s largest indoor amusement park; taking in some culture at Royal Alberta Museum; or exploring the local history at Fort Edmonton Park. But, this summer, there is a whole new reason to visit the city.
The Art of the Brick, the LEGO art exhibit that seems to have taken the world by storm, has made its way to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The exhibit opened May 5, just in time for summer, and will run until Oct. 9 at Tellus World of Science, Edmonton.
The interactive exhibit includes more than 100 unique creations made by artist Nathan Sawaya. The pieces include a variety of works including Lego-replicas of famous artwork like Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Van Gogh’s Starry Night, as well as sculptures ranging from miniature to massive, such as a 20-foot-long tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur.
Tickets for the exhibit at Tellus range from about $18.50for children 3–12, about $21.50 for children 13–17 and $22.90 for adults. There are also packages available, including an accompanying IMAX film and hotel stays at nearby West Edmonton hotels.
