Destinations / North America

Incorporate some soccer in your family travel to Cleveland this summer and time your visit for when two of international soccer’s top men’s national teams play each other at Huntington Bank Field June 6, part of the Road to 26 series. Tickets for the match went on sale Feb. 26, and are available now.

The Brazilian national team is the most decorated in the history of FIFA World Cup, boasting five tournament championships (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002) and two runner-up finishes (1950 and 1998). It is the only team to have participated in every World Cup, leading all nations with a record 76 wins in 114 matches played.

The Egyptian national team is Africa’s oldest, one of the most successful on the continent, winning the Africa Cup of Nations a record seven times. The team has appeared in the FIFA World Cup three times as the first African and Middle Eastern team to play in the tournament.

June’s match will mark Brazil and Egypt’s seventh time playing each other since 1960; Brazil won all six previous matches. The last meeting was in 2011.

Cleveland regularly hosts big events, making history last April when the Columbus Crew hosted Inter Miami at Huntington Bank Field and set a new club attendance record (60,614). The crowd was also the largest for a non-NFL event at the home of the Cleveland Browns.

Road to 26 is co-promoted by Florida Citrus Sports and Unified Events. The match in Cleveland is part of an international soccer series starting this month and continuing in June.
