Cape May, known for its dazzling Christmas displays, proves the perfect destination for family travel this holiday season. And America’s oldest seaside resort Congress Hall joins in on the festivities.

Friday, Nov. 25, serves as the official kick-off to Congress Hall’s magical Winter Wonderland, which includes holiday decorations, a vendor village, rides on the Congress Hall Express, ornament making, gingerbread house decorating and more. The Vendor Village will also include food tents this year, while the Congress Hall Express runs every Thursday–Sunday through Dec. 31, around the hotel’s Grand Lawn. Guests at Congress Hall also receive a letter from Santa upon arrival and one ticket per child under 12 years old for the Congress Hall Carousel.

On Dec. 2, at 6 p.m., gather on the Grand Lawn for the lighting of the resort’s 30-foot Tannenbaum tree. Saturdays in the Grand Ballroom mean two seatings for Darren McDonald’s holiday cabaret with piano performances and singing. The earlier seating is kid-friendly and includes favorite characters. An extra-special guest appears on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28– Dec. 24, at Breakfast with Santa; his wife, Mrs. Claus, hosts story time on Saturday and Sunday during the same time period at 10 a.m.
Other Christmas celebrations in Cape May include candle-lit house tours, Santa trolley rides, a parade and much more.
