If Chile isn’t on your family travel bucket list, it should be. The destination was recently featured on an episode of Global Child “Travel with Purpose,” a new, fast-growing travel series exploring the world through experiences. The series shares positive life lessons while giving back with celebrity friends. The series brings visitors on an ultimate journey through Chile’s Santiago, the Atacama Desert and the beauty of Patagonia.

The episode follows Augusto Valverde, producer of Global Child and former NBC host, and Romina Denecken, Miss Earth Chile, as they start their journey in the magnificent Patagonia region and make their way through the country. During the episode, they learn about quincho, or guaco barbecue, and the best way to try typical Patagonian cuisine. Spoiler alert: empanadas, wine and lamb. While in Santiago, they visit must-stop spots such as Mercado Central, a mecca for seafood, and Peluqueria Francesa. They then set out to explore the Atacama Desert, the driest non-polar desert in the world and one of the best places for astrotourism.

“We are thrilled to see Chile come to life in Peacock’s first travel series. This fresh approach to promoting the country’s vast tourism offerings comes at a great time as the travel industry rebounds and travelers start dusting off their passports,” said Beatriz Roman, director, Chile Tourism Board. “Chile is a world-class destination that offers visitors unique experiences suited for almost every traveler. The country has won the award for Best Adventure Travel Destination in the world continuously since 2016 and with this series, we anticipate continued interest in visiting Chile, where the impossible is possible.”

Watch the episode on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
