Enjoying an enviable position on the Amstel River in the increasingly popular family travel destination of Amsterdam, De L’Europe introduces families to the city through a new cultural lens with the recently launched Van Gogh Roulins Family Experience. In partnership with Van Gogh Museum and its new exhibition Van Gogh and the Roulins, Together Again at Last, on view until Jan. 11, 2026, the offer includes hotel bicycles, a private boat ride to the museum, spacious family suites and more.
The experience begins immediately upon arrival, as children are greeted with special touches to make them feel like the important travelers they are. Little Marie, the hotel’s new mascot and cheerful guide for young guests, leads the experience. She’s a lobster from the Amstel River and, with her friends Bernie the octopus, Hannah the heron, Okidoki the starfish and François the seahorse, she helps little explorers discover Amsterdam.
Age-specific amenities available at the property include plush Little Marie toys, chocolate-filled storybooks, miniature bathrobes and slippers, in-room tipi tents, turndown treats and personalized itineraries curated by the concierge.
At the heart of the stay is a visit to Van Gogh Museum, where guests explore the new exhibition that was actually designed with families in mind. Van Gogh and the Roulins, Together Again at Last includes a variety of creative and educational activities, like hands-on portrait drawing, scavenger hunts, puzzles, coloring and a playful photo wall. The immersive top floor brings Van Gogh’s Arles to life.
Outside of the museum visits, a family-friendly guided tour of Amsterdam incorporates treasure-hunt elements brought to life by Little Marie and her friends with surprises throughout. Guests can also explore at their own pace.
At the end of the stay, each child receives a personalized copy of Little Marie Welcomes You to De L’Europe Amsterdam, along with stationery and postcards with exclusive Little Marie x Van Gogh designs.
The Van Gogh Roulins Family Experience includes two connecting rooms; complimentary tickets with family entry to Van Gogh Museum; welcome amenities for children, including toys, storybooks, bathrobes, slippers and coloring kits; in-room tipi tents and evening turndown treats for younger guests; exclusive keepsakes; a guided city tour; and a €100 F&B credit.
