Celebrate the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll Aug. 9–18, in Memphis, Tenn., during Elvis Week. Hosted at none other than the King’s home turned museum, Graceland will be a flurry with special guests, events and celebrations honoring Elvis Presley.
Tour through the famously beloved residence of Presley, Graceland, and get an inside look at the life and times of the King. Kick off your week with some shopping, history and walk down memory lane with the kids.
During Elvis Week, die-hard fans opt to stay on the property in the Graceland-adjacent Guest House. The Guest House offers easy access to the museum and world surrounding Presley’s famous estate.
Elvis Week attracts fans from all over the world for live music, singing competitions and family-friendly celebrations. The week kicks off with the Elvis Tribute Contest Showcase followed by a Tupelo, Miss., excursion the next day. Guests venture to the birthplace of Elvis and drive by significant landmarks in his life. Enjoy a lunch picnic before heading back to Graceland. Guests must be older than 4, and prices range $79–99 for children and adults.
The week continues with Elvis tribute artists continuing to the next round, meet-and-greet opportunities and the announcement of the big winner. By the weekend, guests tour Mississippi Delta Blues history on another excursion beginning with the Gateway to Blues Museum. Visitors then move on to the Delta Blues Museum, Grammy Museum and Southern Sounds at Dockery Farms — all before lunch at Ground Zero Blues Club.
Your more active friends and family can sign up for the annual Elvis 5K run before snacks and refreshments later — accompanied by music, food and dancing, of course.
Over at the Graceland Soundstage, guests join Lisa Marie Presley for a live listening party before the Greatest Hits Ultimate Tribute Show.
The rest of the week continues with auctions, conversations with Elvis’s co-stars, archives, concerts, fan club reunions, gospel, surprise special guests and more.
Excursion opportunities will be available all week, but visitors eager to explore should book early as a few slots are already sold out. Close the week with brunch in the Grand Ballroom, $45 entry fee, and meet Tom Brown and Ronnie Tutt, former band members of Elvis who share stories from 1969–1977.
Whether a family of Presley fans or looking to introduce the kids, Elvis Week is a crash course in all things King of Rock ‘n” Roll.
