A trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is the epitome of family travel. With four different parks, two waterparks and more than 10 resorts, there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. One of the parks, EPCOT, takes you on a journey through what a future world would be like as well as a trip around the world in one day. Alongside, EPCOT also has a plethora of festivals that rotate throughout the seasons. Through Feb. 14, explore the International Festival of the Arts to experience and enjoy culinary arts, performing arts and visual arts.
The food scene in EPCOT is unbelievable to begin with, but when a festival is happening, it gets even better. Throughout the park, there will be food booths set up with different types of delicious foods. Discover colorful fare that paints an exquisite picture of gastronomical perfection. Explore a world where food imitates art and is made into mouth-watering magical masterpieces.
During the International Festival of the Arts, everywhere you look there is some type of art. In the Animation Academy in the America Gardens Theatre, guests can learn how to draw a Disney character. All over the park you can see art defying gravity and thrilling acts of strength. Artists will use chalk to turn the pavement into a canvas for imaginative masterpieces.
Get involved in the art yourself with Figment’s Brush with the Masters. Learn about art with Figment as you go around the World Showcase on a scavenger hunt. Guests can purchase their maps and stickers at Port of Entry, Creations Shop or World Traveler. Once you have the map, search for Figment hiding inside famous works of art in each World Showcase pavilion. Once you find him, add the corresponding sticker to the pavilion on your map. Once you find them all, return your map to the store for an artful prize.
You can also create your own chalk art with the whole family or participate in a paint by numbers mural. Leave your mark on the festival by adding a little bit of your own color to the larger-than-life mural with other fellow artists and guests.
