St. Patrick’s Day in New Orleans, La: March 17
Parade and party your way through the streets of New Orleans during the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Louisiana. The annual event brings families, locals and tourists from all over the country to celebrate the national holiday in style. Set up a picnic with the family and watch the floats roll by, or enjoy live music and block parties lighting up the city. Dress in holiday green and watch as cabbages, carrots and Moon Pies fly from parade floats out to the crowd of onlookers.
New Orleans Jazz in the Park: May 31–Aug. 31
Where better to celebrate jazz than its birthplace? Every Thursday during the spring and fall, Louis Armstrong Park hosts the New Orleans Jazz in the Park celebration. May 31–Aug. 31, the free event comes complete with authentic New Orleans cuisine, drinks, music and art. Just outside the French Quarter, the park is located in the Tremé neighborhood, the same neighborhood many of the city’s top jazz musicians were born. Take in the vibrant city culture and flare during the seasonal, family-friendly celebration across the park’s 32 acres.

Sip bourbon and mingle with fine spirit purveyors during New Orleans Bourbon Festival, March 8–10.
