Travel Tips

International travel can be a lot of fun, but also tiring. While choosing a hotel to call home base and orient yourself during a visit to Taipei, we found this handful of family-friendly hotels where everyone can relax and recharge.

Fullon Taipei East: Within close proximity to the Taipei Zoo in New Taipei City, this 4-star hotel offers complimentary area shuttle service and pick-up at the train station, making it just a little easier when it comes time to calling it a day. If there is still some energy to burn, dive into the seasonal outdoor pool. The hotel’s family rooms feature two double beds, a pullout sofa and breakfast for four.

Hotel Midtown Richardson: This 3-star hotel is also in the Zhongzheng District. Amenities that make this a family-friendly hotel include refrigerators and complimentary cribs and infant beds for those traveling with smaller children. Speaking of younger children, if yours are 6 years old or younger, they can stay complimentary in your room. A variety of family rooms are available so you have plenty of room to spread out.

New Continental Taipei: Located in the Datong District, this 4-star hotel features standard double, triple and quadruple rooms to fit different traveling families’ sleeping needs, including accessibility to rollaway beds, cots and adjoining rooms. After an evening at the nearby Ningxia Night Market, you will certainly dream of all the goodies you happened upon!

Palais de Chine Hotel: Also nearby the National Taiwan Museum in the Zhongzheng District, this 5-star cultural hotel welcomes its youngest guests with complimentary cribs and infant beds for those traveling with smaller children, and rollaways and extra beds (for a surcharge) for bigger kids. During the summertime, a kids’ game room is set up with everything they need to have fun for hours on end.

Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel: The entire family enjoys the rooftop swimming pool at this stunning hotel — the tallest in the city — whether splashing around or taking in the panoramic views. During the day, a shuttle bus whisks you to nearby attractions and, at night, if it is time for the adults to play, babysitting services are available.
