Los Angeles is home to plenty of popular attractions to give you the quintessential L.A family vacation, but to get a true vibe for the city, you want to dive into some of its hidden gems. Read on to discover some local favorites that often go under the tourist radar.

For a place to center your chi and experience a haven of peaceful serenity within the confines of this bustling city, head to Peace Awareness Labyrinth and Gardens, a destination embodying an appreciation for self-care and spiritual wellness. Established by the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness at the historic Guasti Mansion, this “spiritual oasis in the city” provides visitors with a chance to unwind, rejuvenate, explore their spirituality and commune with nature. Visitors are welcome to explore the stone labyrinth and the Asian-themed mediation garden complete with a koi pond, as well as plenty of places to find peaceful solitude. Guests can also tour the Italian Renaissance mansion. The grounds are open to visitors Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, 2–5 p.m. and require a $6 reserved admission per person.

The Venice Canals offer a unique way to explore Los Angeles and learn more about its history while enjoying the year-round beautiful weather. These man-made canals, originally designed by developer Abbot Kinney in 1905 as an homage to their Italian counterpart, are a great way to see a historic part of the city from the water. While most visitors to Venice Beach walk the boardwalk to shop, snack and check out the sites like Muscle Beach, Canal Pals offers private guided boat tours or boat rentals starting at $100. This relaxing experience lets you explore a hidden side of the city —  the maze of historic homes and peaceful walkways that make this L.A. neighborhood a local treasure.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet
