Luxury with Langham and American Girl

It’s never too early to introduce little ones to the finer things in life and, with that in mind, the swanky Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue Hotel woos families with An American Girl on Fifth Avenue package in partnership with the American Girl company.

The package includes welcome goodies not just for the little guests, but also for their dolls, including an American Girl doll-sized travel bed, robe and slippers set. Forgot to bring the doll? No worries. American Girl Place is located only about 10 minutes away from the hotel by foot, and the concierge will supply a Local Langham Legends walking map to help you get there, making sure you pass some of Fifth Avenue’s most iconic sights along the way.

The package also includes an American Girl DVD movie to watch in the room, pink popcorn and, of course, a milk and cookies turn-down service, supplied up by the hotel’s pastry team.

Other goodies include a $25 American Girl gift card and the services of a pre-booked personal shopper at American Girl Place New York. It’s worth noting the store, now located at 609 5^th Ave., will be moving to 75 Rockefeller Place in November, still an easy stroll away.

Of course, Mom and Dad are not forgotten at Langham Place, which offers a new Chuan Body + Soul spa; a 24-hour fitness center; a Michelin-starred restaurant, Ai Fiori, overseen by celebrity chef Michael White; and a more low-key Bar Fiori, which serves up small plates and signature drinks.

Fans of New York artist Alex Katz will recognize many of his works adorning the lobby and other public spaces, part of the property’s multimillion dollar permanent collection.

Guestrooms offer such features as Nespresso coffeemakers and high-end toiletries and are generous in size, especially the nearly 2,000-square-foot, swanky penthouses on the 25^th and 26^th floors. If the custom furnishing and tricked-out kitchens don’t impress you, the floor-to-ceiling views of the Empire State Building likely will.

Speaking of that iconic attraction, guests can reserve ahead to participate in a seasonal sunrise excursion to the top of the Empire State Building, which offers a dazzling, panoramic view of the city from every angle as the sun makes its first appearance on the horizon. The experience is limited to 100 people, must be pre-booked and costs $100 per person.

Best of all, when it’s time to leave the property, guests can snag a first-come, first-served drop-off via the hotel’s chauffeured Jaguar XJL.
