Travel Tips

Hiking, camping, or going on a road trip with man’s best friend is a rewarding bonding experience for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to pack these items to keep your pet happy, healthy and safe.

First, bring water and lots of it. In the summer, it is easy for your pet to become overheated so cool water will help them keep their body temperature low while taking that five-mile hike. If you run out of filtered water, try finding a source where the water is moving and purify it with GO pure. This pod will make natural water safe for pets and humans to drink. Never let them drink from a puddle or lake as stagnant water can be dangerous if ingested.

Second, bring some food. Dogs have a lot of muscle and energy, but it can quickly deplete as you are hiking for hours. To cut down on bringing large bags of food, either pack a small amount in a Ziploc bag or stop by a pet food store and ask if they have any kibble samples. Most stores have them and they are easy to throw in your bag at any time.

Lastly, pack a towel. Many dogs love to roll in mud or jump into lakes and rivers. While it makes for a cute Instagram post, a wet dog can make a mess in the backseat of your car. A small towel will get the job done so mud won’t wreck your brand-new leather seats.
