This year, one of London’s most iconic squares is getting a brand-new ice-skating rink. Families traveling to London this festival season can expect the new outdoor rink to debut Nov. 1. Created by Underbelly, Skate Leicester Square will be open through Jan. 4, 2026, with both online bookings and walk-ins available.
With the purchase of an adult and/or child ticket, the rink provides double-bladed skates (visitors are allowed to bring their own skates, too) for even the smallest of feet. Skating aids will also be available for an additional cost. Wheelchair users are welcome on the rink, too!
The rink will surround the square’s Shakespeare statue in the middle of the area. In addition to the actual ice-skating rink, Skate Leicester Square will also feature music, festive lights, activities and experiences for all ages, and a Christmas pop-up market. At the market, expect winter-themed food and drinks (think hot chocolate, sparkling wine and mulled wine), as well as seasonal gifts.
Skate Leicester Square allocates part of its earnings to support the Angel Child Fund at The Brain Tumor Charity.
Beyond ice-skating and the rink’s festive amenities, Leicester Square is a lively hub in London, home to the world’s largest LEGO store, various statues of iconic British figures and characters in history like Mr. Bean and Paddington Bear, a movie theater, and more.

Additionally, they offer excellent connectivity between several cities in the United States and European hot spots. Even better, the airline offers perks for families, including discounted fares for children, activity boxes and special meals.
