Get up close and personal with whales during your family travel with the new Wild Whale Expedition from Grand Velas Los Cabos resort.
The experience begins with a helicopter pick-up from the resort’s Terraza del Mar rooftop for a ride to Loreto to see the whales up close in their natural habitat. Blue, grey and humpback whales travel here yearly from Alaska to give birth and hunt for food. In Loreto, enjoy a beach picnic prepared by the resort’s chef, with three courses including options like a charcuterie board, grilled chicken focaccia, heirloom tomato salad and cheesecake. For the family members of age, the picnic also includes an over-the-top cocktail that resembles a blue whale. Sunset views accompany the helicopter ride back to the resort.
While whale-watching season recently ended for this year, the animals will return mid-December, and Grand Velas Los Cabos will again offer the expedition — it’s the perfect time to start planning your family’s visit for the seasonal return.
The Wild Whale Helicopter Experience starts at $10,500; nightly resort rates start at $826 per person and include gourmet meals, premium branded beverages, 24-hour in-suite service, nightly entertainment, taxes, gratuity and more.
