Traveling to Greece just got a little bit easier for family travelers looking to make less stops between Southern California and Athens. A new direct route between Los Angeles International Airport and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens, Greece, was just announced by budget carrier Norse Atlantic Airways, bringing a much-needed and long-awaited non-stop flight between these two major travel hubs. As of now, there are no other airlines offering a direct route between Los Angeles and Athens, making this a one-of-a-kind option for travelers from these cities.
This route is scheduled to start June 3, and will run four days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Prices are currently being offered at incredibly affordable rates, starting at $235 one-way for economy class. Boeing 737 Dreamliners also offer Premium seating available for slightly more and, even with a round-trip fare, you can fly an entire family to and from Greece for a fraction of the cost of other carriers.

This new route expands Norse Atlantic’s offerings between North America and Europe, adding the Athens route to a list of direct, budget-friendly flights from Los Angeles that already includes Paris (CDG), London (LHR) and Rome (FCO). The affordable price and direct route will not only make travel to Greece more affordable for families, but also make the trip much easier for anyone traveling with young children, as they will no longer have to worry about navigating the difficulties of a layover after a long-haul flight.
