If you can’t leave home without Fido, consider the brand-new V.I.Pooch program at Ovolo Hotels, the independent, design-led hotel collection in Hong Kong and Australia.

Both of Ovolo Hotels’ two properties in Hong Kong as well as its six properties in Australia are offering pet-friendly rooms decked out with a plush dog bed, separate food and water bowls and an eating and drinking mat, perfect for sloppy canine diners.

V.I.Poochs — up to two per room — get designer Doggy Bags, containing puppy-approved dog toys, healthy dog snacks and handy poop bags to bring along on walks, hikes and adventures around town.

Of course, human guests aren’t forgotten — they can enjoy the hotels’ signature Loot Bags full of snacks.

“Dog-friendly rooms across Ovolo? Why not?” said Girish Jhunjhnuwala, founder and chief executive officer, Ovolo Hotels Group. “Most [hotels] decline to welcome prized pooches to their properties, particularly in Hong Kong, but we’re not most hotels. We’re thrilled to offer this unique perk to extend our ethos of effortless living. Trips are more fun with your best friend, so why put your V.I.Pooch in a kennel? Your furry friend can snuggle into their own bed and dig in to a special doggie bag curated just for them. It doesn’t get more pawesome than that.”

The V.I.Pooch package is priced at about $102 (plus 10 percent) at Ovolo’s Hong Kong hotels and about $55 at the Australian hotels. Rates are per night, on top of regular room rates.

The Ovolo Hotels, a family-owned Hong Kong brand, was founded by Jhunjhnuwala in 2002 and is one of Hong Kong’s largest independent owner/operator hospitality firms. The company now runs four hotels and a service apartment in Hong Kong, and three hotels across Sydney and Melbourne.

All the properties offer a number of complimentary amenities and services, including free breakfast, minibar (replenished daily), WiFi, social happy hour, self-service laundry, all-day snacks and 24-hour gym. The Ovolo Hotels website also offer information on cool places to eat and drink, events on tap and cultural happenings in Hong Kong and Australia.

The company recently launched a new brand, Mojo Nomad, in Aberdeen Harbour Hong Kong, which opened its doors in December 2017. Mojo Nomad is a co-habitation concept for global nomads that combines travel, lifestyle and community at its core and will be entering the Australian market in the near future.
