For family travelers who love amusement rides, Branson, Missouri’s, Silver Dollar City’s new, groundbreaking, $30 million FIRE IN THE HOLE indoor family roller coaster is for you. Opening in spring, this will the largest indoor roller coaster in the Midwest.
Located in the park’s Fire District, the coaster experience includes a powered incline and gravity descent, three drops, a quick splash landing, a custom soundtrack with high-resolution onboard audio, show lighting and enhanced special effects. At nearly 1/3rd of a mile in length, the ride takes place in a five-story, temperature-controlled building.

As the District’s anchor attraction, it will be a favorite rite of passage for families where one generation introduces the next generation to this adventure and where the heroes of today spark the heroes of tomorrow.”
The ride’s story is a fictional account of a real night in Ozark Mountain history, when the mining town of Marmaros burned to the ground by vigilantes known as Baldknobbers. The ride takes participants through the day when citizens pressed into service to save their town.
