SkyBridge Michigan invites family travelers to walk the world’s longest, timber-towered suspension bridge. The bridge officially opened to the public this month, allowing pedestrians to walk between the peaks of McLouth and Disciples Ridge. The bridge is located at the renowned Boyne Mountain Resort.
At nearly 1,200 feet long, SkyBridge Michigan allows visitors to enjoy a thrilling experience alongside panoramic views of Boyne Valley. Visitors begin their experience with a chairlift ride to the mountain top. After reaching the top, visitors of all ages can venture across the open-air, 5-foot-wide walkway. Those afraid of heights might not want to embark on this experience, as the bridge sits at a staggering 118 feet above the valley. After crossing the bridge, visitors can return for an unobstructed view of the valley floor below. In the middle of the bridge, a 36-foot span of glass allows for floor views.
Near the bridge lies Eagle’s Nest, a mountain peak eatery open to visitors wanting a unique dining experience. Enjoy sandwiches, soups and burgers, all accompanied by views of fall foliage and Boyne Valley.
SkyBridge is open daily, 10 a.m. to dusk, through Oct. 31. Starting Nov. 4, the bridge is open Friday–Sunday through Dec. 4. On Dec. 9, the bridge is open daily again for the winter season. Tickets are $25 for adults (ages 11–69), $20 for seniors (70+), $15 for juniors (ages 3–10) and free for kids aged 2 and under.
