Family travels involving airports and planes are already stressful events, especially with younger children. Then factoring in busy terminals, extra bags and keeping kids entertained, it can sometimes feel like a nearly impossible task.
But some airports have taken steps to ease some of this stress for families with dedicated family facilities and services. And a new study from stroller company iCandy recently unveiled the most family-friendly airports of 2025.
So, what airport is the most family-friendly? Menorca Airport in Spain takes the top spot thanks to its four dedicated children’s play areas, three nursing rooms, eight dining options and lower passenger numbers.
Montreal-Trudeau International Airport in Canada came out as the most family-friendly North American airport in 2025. With five kids’ play areas, 10 nursing rooms and a whopping 53 food venues, there’s plenty of options for family travelers.
The other top 10 family-friendly airports in 2025 (in order) include Riga International Airport, Latvia; Warsaw Chopin Airport, Poland; Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, Canada; Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, Norway; Istanbul Airport, Türkiye; Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport, France; Luton Airport, United Kingdom; Munich Airport, Germany; and Copenhagen Airport, Denmark.
The highest-ranking, family-friendly U.S. airport is Memphis International Airport in Tennessee, sitting at No. 23.
Other U.S. airports making the top 50 include Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (No. 27), San Diego International Airport (No. 29), John Glenn Columbus International Airport (No. 37), Charleston International Airport (No. 38), Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (No. 39), Boston Logan International Airport (No. 43), John F. Kennedy International Airport (No. 45), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (No. 46) and San Francisco International Airport (No. 48).
These airports were ranked after analyzing 117 global airports based on availability of key amenities for families, including restaurants, play areas, feeding/pumping rooms, rentable strollers and family assistance at security. The study also factored in the number of amenities per million passengers to account for size differences across airports.
