Port Aransas

This community has a strong kite-flying presence. Here, local kite shop Fly It Port A hosts not one but three beachside kite festivals each year, where visitors can watch kites soar above the coast and even bring their own to fly. Coastal winds and beautiful views make for the perfect day flying a kite.

Zilker Park in Austin

Austin’s Zilker Park has hosted the ABC Kite Festival for nearly 100 years. Locals and visitors come together to show off unique kites, tailgate and watch handcrafted kites fly over the skyline. The event also offers a children’s concert, kids’ club, pet zone, mini market and range of kite competitions. The event occurs every April to mark the arrival of spring.
