Cruising

As anyone who has ever looked into booking a cruise, especially on a more exclusive and upscale cruise line, knows, finding a ship with great family accommodations can be a real pain. Although cruises tend to be packed to the gills with activities and ways to spend time outside of the cabin, making sure you can rest comfortably is an important aspect of cruising.

Taking a look at which ships have the best accommodations, the first line just about has to be the Disney Cruise Line. One of travel’s most family-friendly brands, it should come as no surprise the cabins on Disney’s varying cruise ships are perfect for fitting the entire family.

The Disney Magic alone features 10 different types of rooms, from standard inside staterooms, with more room than other lines’ inside standard rooms, to the deluxe Concierge suites, which range from one bedroom to the royal suites. These contain two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a verandah and much more. These, and all in between, are perfect for families looking for a magical escape on the high seas.

Royal Caribbean International is another cruise line families, even extended families, will feel right at home on. Many ships in Royal Caribbean International’s fleet go above and beyond to make sure families and guests with special needs are well taken care of. Crewmembers will go as far as providing cribs and other supplies for families traveling with babies.

Extended families traveling on Royal Caribbean are able to book adjoining rooms, making sure even large families can spend their time together onboard Royal Caribbean.

It should also noted that, as one of the larger cruise lines, Royal Caribbean’s decks are packed with things to do for the whole family. Even if the rooms are a little small, there is a good chance all you will do is sleeping there, anyway.

Carnival Cruise Line is another cruise line that probably comes to mind when you think about taking the family on a cruise. Carnival Cruise Line leans into the family aesthetic by offering family-friendly staterooms on every ship in the fleet. These accommodations comfortably sleep up to five people, making them perfect for families traveling with their kids.

When you are looking for your next family cruise, make sure to consider all the options. Even if we did not talk about the cruise line here, there is a good chance the line offers some type of accommodation for families. Doing your due diligence and finding a comfortable room could make or break your next family cruise.
