San Diego, California, offers family travelers plenty of fall fun this year.

 

The inaugural Del Mar Food & Wine Festival takes place Sept. 6 –11. Held at Surf Sports Park, the festival highlights the cuisine of southern California with a lineup of celebrity Food Network chefs alongside popular local chefs. Tickets are currently available for purchase.

 

The 12th annual Kids Free San Diego event takes place in October. Throughout the month, families with kids ages 12 and younger may take advantage of a variety of free and discounted offerings at attractions, venues, hotels and restaurants throughout the city.

 

Check out the 19th annual San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival, Nov. 8–12. Sample food and beverages from some of San Diego’s most-loved restaurants and chefs.

 

San Diego Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park recently debuted three new exhibits in celebration of the 54th annual San Diego Comic-Con event. Exhibits will be on display through spring 2024.

 

Shopping center Westfield UTC recently transformed unused space to open three pickleball courts. Open through October, the complimentary courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Consider booking a stay at newly renovated Lafayette Hotel. The historic property recently debuted its $31 million renovation, which includes redesigned guestrooms, lobby, new pool bar and two new restaurants.
