Northern Wisconsin is well-known for its incredible beauty and boundless nature, making it an ideal region for family travelers. With fun, family-friendly attractions like the Family Pizza Train, families looking to explore the wilds of the north can enjoy some fun and adventure, not to mention a little pizza along the way!
The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad
offers a variety of fun train rides designed to give you an intimate look at the incredible landscape of the north woods of Wisconsin. While rides like the Bed and Breakfast Train may be ideal for couples, the Family Pizza Train
is the perfect way for families to enjoy an afternoon.
The pizza is made fresh in the onboard kitchen. While you munch on pepperoni, sausage or cheese pizza, the train meanders through rolling farm fields, the deep north woods and the Namekagon River. The 90-minute ride also includes a brief stop at Bean Creek trestle bridge.
Tickets run $24 for children aged 3–12 and $32 for guests 13 and up. Each fare includes a personal pizza and bottle of soda or water, with the option to purchase additional drinks as needed. Rides, which depart the town of Trego, run on Saturdays starting in May and Tuesday through Saturday, June through mid-August.
