Destinations / North America

If you love Halloween festivities as much as we do, you’re likely to be over the moon at the idea of a good ghost tour. Now available in more than 65 cities nationwide, US Ghost Adventures offers exactly that, with guides sharing the real stories about America’s most haunted destinations. Here are a few of the most eerie locations to consider:

The frightening tales of sorcery and madness associated with Salem, Massachusetts, come alive during a selection of night tours led by Salem Ghosts, including Witch Trials and Secrets of Salem History Tour; Salem Ghosts: Witches, Warlocks & Hauntings; and Witches, Witchcraft and Wizardry: Occult in Salem.

Themed tours offered by Colonial Ghosts in Williamsburg, Virginia, include the Ultimate Dead of Night Haunted Ghost Tour and Secrets of Colonial Williamsburg. As darkness falls, you’ll discover the city’s darkest secrets and stories of murder, witches, pirates and native devils.

In Gettysburg, Civil War Ghosts takes brave participants to blood-soaked battlegrounds during the Gettysburg Battlefield Tour; Civil War Ghosts of Gettysburg Tour; and the Civil War Ghosts of Gettysburg Ultimate Dead of Night Haunted Ghost Tour.

In the Rocky Mountains, Denver Terrors adds a little extra chill to the autumn Colorado mountain air with tours like tales of Titanic survivor Molly Brown, devious politicians and mountain murders during the Denver Terrors Ghost Tour.

In sweet-smelling Savannah, swamps, disease, war and the unhappy dead are the topics of Savannah Terrors tours, including Ghosts and Ghouls in the South; Ultimate Dead of Night Haunted Ghost Tour; and Tombs of Savannah: Bonaventure Cemetery Experience.

Shipwreck victims and mass executions are explored during nightly tours in Newport, Rhode Island. Each one-hour tour begins at 8 p.m. at the meeting spot in front of Eisenhower Park’s statue in Washington Square.

Think you have a special connection to the “other side”? Check the US Ghost Adventures website, which includes detailed information about launching your own spooky career.
