Family travelers to Orlando next year will have even more reason to enjoy the land of theme parks thanks to Universal Studios Orlando’s upcoming DreamWorks park. The new land takes over the former KidZone section of Universal Studios Orlando and will feature franchises like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.
While an exact opening time remains unknown, the new area of the park will include a Shrek-themed mini-land. Here, visitors will find themed playground elements and the home of Shrek and his family. When open, guests can meet Shrek and Donkey, with additional meet-and-greets with other characters from the franchise slated for later in the year.
The Trolls section will include Trollercoaster, while the Kung Fu Panda section is believed to include an interactive character experience. Other characters from franchises expected to appear in this section of the park include Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse.
While this new park currently undergoes construction, visitors can look forward to another addition coming Aug. 11. Join Illumination’s Minions as Villain-Con returns to Orlando. In this experience, visitors glide along a moving walkway and encounter the Vicious 6 while blasting to supervillain stardom.
