Bring the family to Whitesbog Historic Farm and Village for a day full of exploring New Jersey’s dynamic landscapes. The small cranberry farming village is located in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest in Browns Mills, New Jersey. Founded in 1857, Whitesbog is home to 3,000 acres of bogs, creeks and forests. There are nature trails open to visitors every day.
New Jersey is considered the blueberry capital of the world. Whitesbog hosts annual festivals, tours, tastings and blueberry pie eating contests to celebrate the popular berry. Blueberry picking is available in the summer, typically June – August, for a $5 suggested donation.
Cranberry season takes place late September through the first week of October. Pine Barrens Native Fruitsharvests the cranberries at Whitesbog seasonally. Visitors may view the cranberry harvest from a distance at designated viewing locations. In addition to the harvest viewing, Whitesbog hosts cranberry festivals, walks and presentations.

Whitesbog hosts numerous other events year-round. The village houses and buildings are open to the public for self-guided tours Saturdays 10 a.m–2 p.m. This coincides with weekly Saturday markets with local vendors. Whitesbog volunteers lead guided tours the first Saturday of each month. Moonlight hikes are scheduled monthly, on the Saturday closest to the full moon. Check the Whitesbog events calendar for a full listing of annual and seasonal events, tours, hikes and other activities.
On your way out, stop by Whitesbog General Store and browse a selection of locally made treats, books, stickers, toys, clothing and other items.
