Parvin State Park is a great place to visit with the whole family. Located in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, the park was created in the 1930s. There are plenty of recreational activities to take part in during your visit.
There are several parking lots, depending on where you enter. Parvin Grove day-use area is a great place to start, with the park office, a picnic area, parking lot, playground, restroom, showers and concession stand all centrally located. There are two lakes within the park, Parvin Lake and Thundergust Lake. Both offer areas for boat launches, canoeing and kayaking. The park boasts 15 miles of trails for hiking and biking. There are nine different trails, ranging from .35 miles to 3.2 miles. Some trails are loops and others can be combined for longer hikes.

Parvin State Park is a great spot for camping. The park boasts 54 tent and trailer campsites along the south shore of Parvin Lake. Each site can accommodate six people and two vehicles and includes a fire ring, picnic table and lantern hook. There are four group sites available that can accommodate 25 people per site. These include flush toilets, water access, fire rings and picnic tables. The park is also home to 18 cabins, each with a furnished living room with a fireplace or wood burning stove, fire rings, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom with sink, toilet and shower.

The park is located near the edge of the Pine Barrens. The park’s landscape reflects this, with pine forests and a swamp hardwood forest. There are more than 200 kinds of flowering plants within the park. The threatened barred owl and the endangered swamp pink call Parvin State Park home.
Parvin State Park is open year-round, sunrise to sunset. Park office hours are 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with extended hours during camping and swimming season.
