Take your family travels to the most Instagrammable and popular amusement parks in the United States. Recently, Westgate Palace Hotel at Universal analyzed every amusement park in the country based on three key factors: Instagram hashtags, monthly Google search volume and percentage of “excellent” reviews on TripAdvisor. These factors were combined in an index to give each amusement park a total score to discover the most popular one.
Taking the crown as the most popular amusement park in the United States is Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure is one of two major parks at Universal Orlando Resort, famous for thrilling rides, exciting experiences and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Who doesn’t want a picture in front of Hogwarts? The park claimed the first spot with its impressive total index score of 91.1 out of 100.
With a score of 90.4, Magic Kingdom comes in second, barely missing the top spot. Home to the iconic Cinderella’s Castle, Walt Disney World is the most-visited vacation resort in Florida. Although it’s not the most popular, Magic Kingdom ranks as the most Instagrammable theme park in both the United States and world.
Disney California Adventure Park, one of two in Anaheim, California, places third. The park ranks as the third-highest-rated park nationwide on TripAdvisor with 67 percent of its reviews labeled excellent. The amusement park scored 84.2.
Coming in at fourth is Cedar Point, located in Sandusky, Ohio. Often referred to as the “rollercoaster capital of the world” due to its impressive selection of rollercoasters, Cedar Point receives the highest number of Google searches in the study. The amusement park opened in 1870, making it one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States.
Other amusement parks making the list include Silver Dollar City, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios Hollywood, California’s Disneyland Park, Dollywood and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
