Vienna Airport made some recent improvements and additions to its culinary lineup — perfect for foodie families traveling through Europe.
Jamie’s Italian
Be sure to check out the newly opened restaurant Jamie’s Italian by British celebrity Chef, Jamie Oliver. Foodie families and travelers near Terminal 3 find themselves face to face with the all-new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant providing a relaxed atmosphere and break from regional cuisine. Jamie’s Deli has been a popular hub in the airport for some time, inspiring the addition of the sit-down Italian fare option.
Expect exclusive cocktails and snacks, launching spring 2018 as part of the expanding gastronomic world of Vienna Airport. Guests flying through or near Terminal F or G gates can easily experience Jamie Oliver’s menu, inspired by rustic Italian cuisine with Mediterranean influences.
Traditional Snacks
One classic Austrian snack you and the family must try while traveling through Vienna Airport is a special type of meatloaf called leberkäse. The leberkäse is a cult favorite among locals, an obligatory snack for anyone in the region, and can be purchased alone or in a roll.
Looking for a less-risky snack for the kids? Pretzels are available from morning to night in Vienna Airport. Travelers near the F gates can easily stop at the Brezelkönig, or Pretzel King, for the real thing. Get something savory before the flight to hold you over, such as the hotdog pretzel or ham and cheese pretzel, or opt for a dessert option with a sweet chocolate brittle pretzel.
Healthy Hot Spots
Dean & David offers health-conscious cuisine with high-quality ingredients for passengers. Dean & David cuisine boasts cuisine rich in vitamins and minerals, but without any added flavors or dyes. Refuel the kids with vitamin-enriched juices, flatbreads and vegan sandwiches as Dean & David caters to a wide variety of nutritional needs and restrictions.
Local Brews
Passengers stopping in Vienna Airport would be remiss to not try some Austrian craft beer, located near the F gates. Beer & Snacks — proficiently named — offers regional beers from smaller breweries located in the area surrounding the airport as well as the eastern region of Austria. Grab a pint of beer paired with a grilled cheese kransky sausage for the full experience.
