Luxury

The Caribbean is well-known for its beautiful scenery, relaxing beaches and warm waters, but it also happens to be a haven for opulence and indulgence. Visitors looking for the ultimate luxury resort getaway should head to Grenada to experience Silversands Resort.

This beachfront property, which sat unused for some time, opened its newly renovated doors Dec. 1, and has 43 lavishly decorated rooms and suites to choose from. There are also a number of beachfront and hillside villas which have up to four rooms for large groups or if you simply want plenty of room and privacy.

Rooms and villas are all inspired by the natural beauty of the island with hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the Caribbean sun to warm and brighten the rooms. Beds and in-room furnishings are expertly placed to maximize the view. Sleek lines and marble features give a modern feel to the property.

As if the breathtaking blues of the Caribbean Sea and the lush greenery of the island aren’t enough to satisfy guests, Silversands offers incredible amenities to heighten the experience. The resort proudly boasts the longest pool in the Caribbean, which overlooks the turquoise waters of the sea. The infinity pool, the centerpiece of the resort, is 100 meters long and flanked by relaxing lounge chairs and cabanas. After a day of exploring the island, it’s the ideal place to relax with a drink and enjoy the stunning sunsets as the sun melts into the horizon each evening.

To make sure guests are pampered at every turn, the resort offers private airport transportation, an unpacking service and 24-hour concierge service. The full-service spa offers massages and facials, 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily, to help you unwind and rejuvenate.

There are two world-class restaurants on the grounds — the poolside Grenadian Grill and the Asian-inspired Asiatique. The menus are designed by the resort’s award-winning chef and feature local spices along with fruits and vegetables locally sourced through Grenada Network of Rural Women Producers. Through this program, the resort is not only providing local, sustainable ingredients to its guests, but supporting the local community as well.

For evening entertainment or a light meal, head to the GG Lounge for a drink and relax to the sounds of a steel drum band while you enjoy the sea breeze. Puro, the rum and cigar bar, offers a touch of the Caribbean’s old-world charm in a modern setting with more than 100 different rums to choose from. If you wish to be truly pampered, simply lounge in your suite and have the resort staff bring your meals directly to you through the 24-hour, in-room dining service.
