There are two types of families traveling this winter: those who head south for warmth and those who embrace the colder temps and changing season. If you’re in the latter camp, you’ll enjoy the ice castles coming to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, this winter.
Utah-based entertainment company Ice Castles specializes in seasonal events and incredible large-scale ice creations, specifically ice castles. All completely handmade, the Ice Castle team creates one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life locations, seemingly straight out of Frozen.
Stroll through solid ice doorways and frozen rooms within each ice castle’s completely unique architecture. In any one of Ice Castle’s pop-up fairytale mansions, visitors experience a wonderland of family fun, complete with ice slides, seating and various icicle attractions. Check out the incredible columns, high ceilings and special features showcased in each ice castle.
Castles are hand poured by ice artists and laborers for hours a day, for weeks at a time. Each castle can consist of tens of thousands of icicles, all completely shaped and placed by hand in a precise formation, creating each completely unique ice castle.
Ice castles can climb higher than 40 feet and are embedded with colorful LED lights changing in each ice column. Enjoy the changing lights set to music by night and explore the once-in-a-season destination.
In partnership with Parks Canada, Ice Castles expects its newest ice castle in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to be completed in December and ready for exploration. Check out its previous castle photos, testimonials and updated information online and plan your next winter destination. Stay updated with which castles are appearing when and where, and which ones are for a limited time only.
