Circle Line is looking forward to fall by announcing the start of its annual Bear Mountain Cruises, running Sept. 18–Oct. 31. The eight-hour, round-trip cruise combines the fun of Oktoberfest with the colorful beauty of the autumn season.

Circle Line’s Bear Mountain Cruises offer a day of fun on the Hudson with a lineup of activities including light narration from the cruise line’s tour guides; views of the 800-foot-tall Hook Mountain; and a live German Polka band. The 50-mile cruise up the Hudson also passes Hudson River Palisades, the George Washington Bridge and the Mario Cuomo Bridge.

A seasonal menu perfectly fits the theme with bratwurst, Prop & Peller Bavarian pretzels, pork schnitzel and German potato salad. Other offerings include pizza, nachos, salads, assorted snacks, hot and cold beverages, Sam Adams Oktoberfest and Warsteiner lager, wine, cocktails and more. Decks will be heated or air-conditioned, and indoor seating is next to large windows designed for sightseeing.

Upon arrival at Bear Mountain, passengers can disembark for two to three hours to explore the park. Highlights include Bear Mountain Lake, hiking trails of various levels of difficulty, Trailside Museums and Zoo and a carousel in Merry-Go-Round Pavilion.

Tickets are on sale now, at $69 for a standard adult ticket. One cruise departs per day every Saturday and Sunday, as well as Oct. 11. Boarding starts at 8:30 a.m., for 9 a.m. departures, with the boats returning at approximately 5 p.m. Passengers must be vaccinated to board and masks are requested indoors while not eating or drinking.
