Round Hill Hotel and Villas

Luxury

On a recent trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, I was fortunate enough to stay in the incredibly luxurious Villa 16 at Round Hill Hotel and Villas. The impeccably manicured grounds leading to my secluded room were like something out of Swiss Family Robinson, but with high-end services.

Walking in, I was taken aback by how much space there was, while feeling incredibly cozy and tucked away from reality. I walked through the front room’s wide-open entrance and could see clear through to the infinity pool outside. On either side of the hallway on my walk to the pool were two private rooms, one on each side, housing fellow guests.

The scattered bungalows and luxury suites located around the property add a wide variety of accommodation possibilities for families. Grab a group and book a multiroom villa, each room with its own private bedroom, open-concept sitting room, outdoor dining space, pools and community play rooms.

Smaller groups and families enjoy private bungalows by the beach complete with sweeping views while feeling private.

Following the walkway to my own private suite, just off the main villa, my room came complete with a private infinity pool and sitting area. Downstairs there were an additional two suites, pools, a game room and a final suite on top of the villa with a private stairway. Picture a big family or group of friends getting together in one room or heading off on their own to rest.

I met my fellow travelers for breakfast after we left out lists of chosen items in the pantry and we chatted about the amazing accommodations. The resort is something out of a movie, specifically How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

The dream-like accommodations, attentive service and pristine grounds make for a perfect couple’s retreat, family getaway or relaxing girls trip. Head to the spa with your teens and older children with a special “me time” treatment offer for teens or head out on your own for some peace and quiet. The spa is one of the only spaces on the resort that is adults-only and incredibly quiet. Leave the little ones at the Kid’s Club to play and learn basket weaving or bring them to the family-friendly beach.

Once back on the beach with the family, head out paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling, as all non-motorized watersports are included in your stay. Upgrade to a boat and scuba or take an off-resort excursion with the family with the help of the friendly and knowledgeable concierges.

The unique property consists of privately owned bungalows and suites rented out to non-member guests — like Airbnb before Airbnb.

Each suite is completely unique from the next. As they are privately owned, members can create their own oasis to be shared with non-members as they are available throughout the season.
