If there’s one trend we’re seeing that shows no signs of slowing down, it’s multigenerational travel, but finding the right vacation that works for everyone — from toddlers to grandma — can be a challenge.
Antlers at Vail Hotel in the Rocky Mountains is looking to simplify your vacation planning this summer with a whole menu of activities and amenities suited for families of all ages.
Little guests can cool off with the new, three-night Beat the Heat package, good through Sept. 30, which bundles in a complimentary pool toy for the them to use in the Antlers’ mountainside pool, plus icy desserts from Vail’s Rimini Gelato & Café, located within easy walking distance from the property in Antlers’ family-friendly Lionshead neighborhood.
More fun is available at the Vail Epic Discovery center, accessible via the Eagle Bahn Gondola a few steps from the Antlers’ front door. Activities at the center include the Alpine Coaster, ziplines and adventure courses, hiking and mountain biking paths — including one to a scenic waterfall — whitewater rafting and fly-fishing. In winter, the property offers snowshoe trails and, of course, access to world-class skiing.
In the town of Vail, there are water-play areas for kids, as well as cycling paths and plenty of shops and restaurants.
The Beat the Heat package includes a 20 percent discount on accommodations along with access to resort amenities. Rates start at $744 for a one-bedroom condo with bunk beds for a family of four, not including taxes.
Can’t leave home without Fido? Bring him along for $25 a night with advance reservations. Your entire family, including the four-footed members, can take advantage of the property’s mountain setting, where off-leash dog parks and pet-friendly al fresco dining options make for a stress-free vacation.
Looking to spread out more? The property’s condo accommodations range from a studio to a roomy four-bedroom option, all of which feature fully equipped kitchens. Families can stock up at the Sunday farmer’s market for outdoor grills on their private balconies on those nights when they don’t feel like eating out. Condos also offer fireplaces and daily maid service.
Activities at Antlers at Vail include complimentary bike rentals, unlimited Vail Athletic Club access, free twice-weekly yoga classes, loaner GoPro cameras, free shuttle for grocery pickup and the use of specialty kitchen appliances like espresso machines and crockpots. There are no resort fees, and WiFi and parking are also free.
