American Queen Voyages offers family travelers a unique shore excursion with its Field of Dreams Experience. Inspired by the classic baseball movie, the experience is available on Upper Mississippi River voyages starting July 22.
Upon docking in Dubuque, Iowa, where much of the movie was shot, travelers follow a local guide to filming locations from the movie. Travelers then make their way to the If You Build It exhibit in Dyersville to view memorabilia and behind-the-scenes photos from the film. Stop at the actual baseball diamond and farm from the film to walk the bases and wander into the cornfield.
“Our guests always enjoy strolling in the footsteps of Mark Twain’s classic characters in Hannibal and spotting bald eagles near Red Wing,” said Isis Ruiz, CCO, American Queen Voyages. “Adding the Field of DreamsExperience premium excursion in Dubuque promises to create even more memorable moments on this popular Upper Mississippi River itinerary.”
The Field of Dreams Experience is available on Upper Mississippi River itineraries of the American Queen, American Duchess and American Countess between St. Louis and Minneapolis embarking July 30; Aug. 28; Sept. 10, 11, 24 and 26; and Oct. 16. The experience costs $99 per person.
