Boston Frostival: Winter Family Fun Awaits

This winter is definitely a cold one, but at the Boston Frostival, Boston’s premier winter event, families will find the perfect way to make the most of the season. The festival, through March 1, is an annual event loved by locals and visitors alike, giving residents a reason to step out in the cold and giving visitors a great excuse to visit one of the most historic cities in the country.

This year’s festival pulls out all the stops with drone lighting shows over the country’s oldest public park, Boston Common, and a 75-foot Ferris wheel located in the Greenway, a 17-acre park that stretches through the city’s downtown neighborhood.

The Frostival Lodge will be the place to hang out, especially with the unusually cold weather the region has experienced this year. Starting Feb. 6, the Lodge will be a warm place to get in from the cold and enjoy some comfortable seating, live music, family-friendly activities like trivia games and fresh food from Eataly. Outside you’ll find fun games like cornhole and curling and, of course, plenty of snow for building snowmen.

The Lodge will be available until Feb. 28, so it will be the perfect place to take a break while exploring the city and squeeze in some family games like Jenga or Scrabble or take a pasta-making class. Kids will love arts and crafts activities, and sports fans in the family will definitely appreciate the group watch events for winter sports games, especially with the Winter Olympics going on during the festival.
