Age Specific / Multigenerational

Kick-off the Christmas festivities Nov. 21 at Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. Welcoming guests of all ages, the entire family can participate in the resort’s annual Illumination Ceremony. This magical event celebrates the flipping of a switch for the spectacular light displays around the resort.

More than 2 million lights will be flicked on followed by a fireworks display that will ring in the holiday season in style. Guests can roam the resort grounds to observe the sights and sounds of the displays, vote on gingerbread house creations, sip on hot apple cider and enjoy holiday cookies with Santa. Beginning Nov. 22, resort guests can hop aboard an enclosed, heated trolley to view the vignettes without getting too cold. Neighboring Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark is open for guests to go for a swim at the indoor waterpark.

Families can choose from varying accommodations, from private villas, resort suites and adjoining rooms. Upon request, visitors can arrange for a decorated Christmas tree in their rooms and have letters to Santa be brought to the North Pole.

This year’s ceremony attendance is limited to hotel guests only due to COVID-19 safety guidelines and recommendations. Non-hotel guests can participate in breakfast with Santa, Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, holiday and winter dining experiences and the gingerbread house contest.
