Elewana Collection Expands Family Safaris Across Kenya, Tanzania

Safaris are popular family travel experiences for many reasons, from immersive wildlife encounters to educational moments to unforgettable memories. Elewana Collection recently expanded its family safari offerings. These programs span several properties in Kenya and Tanzania, each tailored to reflect the natural and cultural wonders of each location.

Each region has its own special landscapes, wildlife and cultural attributes, and Elewana Collection’s new family programming has been selectively introduced to match each property’s own character and audience rather than a set program across the collection.

Age-appropriate programming starts for guests as young as 3 years old, such as learning the art of spear making and throwing at Tortilis Amboseli Camp, Tarangire Treetops and Elsa’s Kopje. Children ages 6 and older can harvest vegetables and herbs for their family’s meal during the Garden to Table at Kifaru House in Kenya and The Manor at Ngronogoro in Tanzania. At Loisaba Tented Camp in Northern Kenya, older children can hunt for scorpions while learning about nocturnal wildlife and safe, after-dark bush practices. At Elsa’s Kopje, children learn the story of Elsa and the lioness, as well as the property’s own conservation legacy, by watching her story unfold under the stars during a nighttime screening of Born Free.

All lodges offer thoughtful amenities little ones can enjoy. At night, families can gather around the fire and roast marshmallows while listening to local folklore and stories. During the day, they can learn traditional games like Iron Snake, Migration or giant Jenga (with each block offering a wildlife or conservation fact). Other amenities and activities include movie nights, pool toys and lawn badminton. Additionally, kids over the age of 4 receive a Wildlife Warrior backpack filled with a water bottle, activity pack and other useful items.

The brand also created a new head of Family Experiences role to welcome families traveling with children on a safari.
