Grand Velas Riviera Maya just gave family travelers a new reason to visit. The resort recently had the grand opening of its new Kids’ and Teens’ Clubs, offering activities that balance nature and modern entertainment.
The new Kids’ Club is a Mayan jungle-inspired sanctuary promoting hands-on, screen-free fun to encourage creativity and connection to nature through indoor and outdoor spaces. The indoor space features areas for arts and crafts, a dance floor, and an elaborate playhouse. The outdoor terrace hosts afternoon activities like picnics, shows and plays, and artistic workshops. Other activities, designed to celebrate local culture, include piñata creation, Ojos de Dios workshops, traditional Mexican toys, yoga and ecotours. Kids can also participate in culinary fun such as cookie-, cupcake- and crêpe-decorating classes.

Over at the Teens’ Club is a sophisticated environment specially designed for older children looking for both modern entertainment and cultural activities. The main area includes pool tables, foosball, multiple PlayStation 5 consoles and a disco room. The second floor is home to an arcade area with basketball games, sports simulators and car racing games. Additionally, golf lovers can master their skill at the golf simulator, while movie lovers can catch classic films in the V.I.P. movie room. Entertainment isn’t the only thing offered; teens can also participate in guacamole- and sushi-making classes, Huichol beading art workshops, Mexican bracelet making, and hand-painted water bottle workshops. Eventually, the club will also offer wellness experiences such as facials and skincare activities.
The Kids’ Club offers supervised activities from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and kids can be dropped off at any time. Parents are also welcome to join in on the activities, too, if interested. The Teens’ Club offers later hours, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the hours of 9–11 p.m. dedicated to teens 12 and up.
