Whitefield, New Hampshire’s, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa recently launched a brand-new kid’s menu, titled “Where Culinary Adventures Meet Mountain Elegance.” The menu, an example of a growing trend in the industry where children’s dining mirrors the quality of the adult’s, highlights creativity, local flavor and mountain magic. Family travelers are sure to enjoy the culinary creations.

Locally sourced ingredients with an imaginative twist show up in the kid favorites found on the menu. Think maple-glazed chicken fingers served with fries or vegetable sticks or the Campfire Pepperoni Pizza with a hint of smoky flavor. The Monster Burger features local cheddar and hand-cut fries. On the sweet side, kiddos can choose between warm apple crisp or a s’mores sundae. There’s even a specialty drink menu, Adventure Drinks, including maple lemonade and Unicorn or Dragon Hot Chocolate.

Salvaged stays are an emerging trend in travel that let family travelers enjoy a unique way to experience a destination. Rather than staying in a destination’s big-ticket resort hotel or a cookie-cutter vacation rental, travelers look to the world’s repurposed properties, like abandoned mills and defunct train stations-turned-hotels that have found new life. These renovated properties are a lesson in sustainability and give families a chance to discover a unique view of the history of a destination.
