Three Little Bears Retreat, a private wilderness retreat in Bryson City, North Carolina, gears up for its most exciting summer season yet. The hotel is the region’s first safari-style, all-inclusive mountain retreat, perfect for families, groups and friends. Expect a blend of Appalachian heritage and the spirit of exploration with adventure, wellness and conservation. Created as a modern basecamp and inspired by traditional national park lodges, the retreat offers an oasis for explorers seeking adventure, connection and quality time.
After a recent renovation, Three Little Bears Retreat debuts a refreshed collection of five private cabins and lodges. These include intimate, creek-side cabins for two–six guests and multibedroom lodges that can accommodate up to 14 guests. Families who book any of these accommodations can expect amenities such as a private hot tub, smokeless fire pits, outdoor soaking tubs, large decks with creek views and fully equipped kitchens. The Main Lodge will serve as a gathering place for expedition briefings, fireside storytelling, shared meals and reflection.
Three Little Bears Retreat offers an experience-led, all-inclusive mountain vacation where learning, adventure and connection help build confidence, strong connections and adventurous spirits. Guests enjoy curated daily programming according to their skill levels and interests. Activities include guided hikes through the Great Smoky Mountains, animal safari expeditions, multiday fly-fishing trips, e-bike tours, summit and fire tower expeditions, whitewater rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, cooking classes, and workshops inspired by and highlighting Cherokee traditions.
The safari-style adventures really set this retreat apart. Guests can embark on multiday expeditions in vintage Land Rovers to explore landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage.
