The Full Jellycat Experience: London Edition

Founded in London, Jellycat plush toys have become a global phenomenon. These adorable characters range in size and come in all different styles, from smiling fruits, baked goods and sports equipment to plants and pretty much anything else you can think of. Beyond your typical stuffed animal, Jellycats have become generationally popular for all ages.

Available through its website, Jellycats also appear in stores across the globe. Though there is no stand-alone store, Jellycat spaces can be found in small boutiques and high-end department stores in locations like New York City, London, Ireland and Paris.

Various storefronts host limited-time collections offering unique Jellycat characters specific to that location. London currently hosts a Fish & Chips Experience on the fourth floor of Selfridges, where visitors have the opportunity to turn a simple purchase into an immersive and interactive shopping experience.

Guests can expect a playful, theatrical interaction once they have their Jellycats picked out (maybe the chip, mussel or sausage — all English classics). Workers will pretend to “fry” the item and ask how you want it seasoned. Perhaps some salt, pepper, vinegar or lemon juice?

Once cooked to perfection, it is wrapped in newspaper-style paper and boxed precisely to ensure proper transportation to its new home.
