United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).

All of this adds up to United Airlines boasting the largest, most diversified international route network among all U.S. airlines, with non-stop service to 134 international destinations across 67 countries and offering flights to more destinations across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans than all other U.S. carriers combined.

Next winter, United becomes the only airline to directly connect the United States and Marrakesh when the new service from Newark launches Oct. 24, offered three times weekly on a Boeing 767-300ER. The expansion of the airline’s presence in the Philippines starts July 31 with new year-round, non-stop service from Tokyo Narita, making United the only U.S. carrier to serve Cebu daily. For the first time ever, United connects to Medellin, Colombia, on Oct. 27, serving a total of 52 Latin American destinations from Houston.

“We have consistently been ahead of the curve in finding hidden gem destinations for our customers to explore and remain committed to providing the most unique slate of travel options for their adventures abroad,” said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of Global Network Planning and Alliances, United Airlines. “With our leading global network and elevated inflight experience, United has become the airline of choice for discerning customers looking for experiences they can’t have with any other carrier.”

Flights to Shanghai from LAX start Aug. 29, increasing to daily service in late October. Increased service to Hong Kong and Seoul takes off from San Francisco starting Oct. 26 and Oct. 25, respectively. Porto service from Newark flies twice daily beginning May 23. The Shanghai and Cebu flights are now on sale, with Marrakesh and Medellin coming later this year.
