Vacasa, North America’s leading vacation rental management platform, recently released its annual Best Places to Buy a Beach House report. Family travelers can use this report to scope out the best waterfront destinations to fill every summer with lasting memories.
For families looking to make a splash in 2023, look no further than Lake Anna, Virginia, ranking highest on the list this year, followed by Hatteras Island, North Carolina, and Navarre Beach, Florida.
Lake Anna attracts guests with its 17 miles of sparkling water, sandy beaches and fair weather.
Traditional beach markets on the list may experience more seasonal occupancy tied to the warmer months, but destinations throughout the southeast in Alabama and Florida with year-round sunshine grab many of the year’s top slots.
Other destinations making the top 10 list include:
- Palm Coast, Florida
- Surf City, North Carolina
- Gulf Shores, Alabama
- Destin, Florida
- North Topsail Beach, North Carolina
- Rockaway Beach, Oregon
- 30A, Florida
To determine the ranking of the top vacation house destinations, Vacasa analyzed home sales and vacation rental performance data from the last 12 months for destinations throughout the country. To calculate the average gross rental income, Vacasa used actual performance data for the local market as a whole where it was available.
