Visit Philadelphia and NBC10 will partner on Philly Live Weekends, a Facebook livestream series featuring chefs, performers, artists and other Philadelphians contributing from home. The new series (inspired by Philly Live, a weekday NBC10 feature on temporary hiatus) will stream at 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Beginning today at 5 p.m., the show will live stream on Visit Philadelphia’s and NBC10’s Facebook. Viewers can interact from home in real time.
Philly Live Weekends also encourages viewers to donate to the PHL COVID-19 Fund, a regional grants program serving the city’s at-risk populations.
Check out the upcoming programming here — all subject to change, and all at 5 p.m. unless otherwise stated:
- Today, March 27, at 3 p.m., watch Philadelphia Zookeeper Ellen Bartuska feed giraffes at the Philadelphia Zoo. Later in the day, tune in for a Pantry Party with Spice Finch’s co-executive chefs Jennifer Carroll and Billy Riddle.
- Next up, Saturday, March 28, join in a sing-along with by Sean Bailey, music professor and multi-instrumentalist with The Philly POPS BIG Band — don’t worry, mostly popular music.
- Going live Sunday, March 29, Ginger Rudolph (HAHAMAG) leads virtual guests through a The #SisterlyLove Project tour, street art exhibit featuring Philadelphia’s notable women by incredibly talented female Philadelphians.
- Next week, Friday, April 3, join Grant Loehnig, head of music staff at Opera Philadelphia and master opera coach at the Curtis Institute of Music, on piano, accompanied by Marcus DeLoach, soloist who appeared with Opera Philadelphia.
- Saturday, April 4, join another Pantry Party, but this time in a new venue. Watch James Beard Award-winning chef Jose Garces of Amada, Buena Onda, Distrito, JG Domestic, Stella, The Olde Bar, Tinto, Village Whiskey and Volvér spice up the livestream.
- Later, Sunday, April 5, virtual guests can finish out the weekend with a show, watching a live concert by husband-and-wife musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra.
