The Brando

Luxury

There’s luxury and there’s ultra-luxury — families who fall in the latter camp might want the new residences at The Brando, a posh retreat in French Polynesia, on their radar. The property, located on the private island of Tetiaroa, opened the first of four residence-style accommodations this summer, with three more to follow over the next four years.

The accommodations offer high-level exclusivity and privacy on what is already a rarified location, situated on Onetahi, one of The Brando’s 12 motu, or islets, that ring the Tetiaroa atoll.

The three-bedroom Brando Residence spans 3,000 square feet of interior space, located on its own 1.25-acre plot fronted by a private white-sand beach. Designed for optimal indoor-outdoor living, the residence also features its own private swimming pool and large terrace, as well as posh interiors with scenic views of the lagoon. The structure is crafted in Polynesian style, with local tropical wood, coral walls and pandanus roofing.

Guests of the Brando Residence have full access to all resort activities and amenities, including multiple restaurants, water sports, a Polynesian spa, lagoon-view bar, beach bar, fitness center, organic garden, library, pearl shop, boutique and the resort’s Ecostation. Dedicated staff, including chefs and butlers, is also available upon request.

In keeping with The Brando’s commitment to sustainability, the Brando Residence was constructed to the standards which earned The Brando its LEED Platinum certification. All Brando Residences are committed to preserving the natural biodiversity of Tetiaroa, while respecting Polynesian culture and achieving a zero-carbon footprint.

The property, opened five years ago, is the result of the lifelong vision of Marlon Brando carried out by Richard H. Bailey, chief executive officer of Pacific Beachcomber.

“Each of the Brando Residences will feature 5-star services and amenities powered by the same zero carbon emission technology which has established The Brando as a pillar of sustainable hospitality. Solar energy and biofuel power the entire resort, while deep seawater cools it, and these practices will also be in place at the residences,” said Bailey. “Of the 12 motus which make up the Tetiaroa atoll, two feature minimal construction and 10 are protected as a nature reserve.”

All-inclusive rates for the Brando Residence start from $16,817 plus taxes per night for up to six guests. The accommodation can also hold a maximum of two additional children (ages 12–17) for an additional $530 per day plus taxes, for a total of eight guests.
