Luxury

Luxury resorts are often synonymous with fabulous amenities like butler service, fine dining, indulgent spa services and 5-star accommodations. Unfortunately, for little ones, these spectacular destination resorts tend to cater more toward their adult clientele without focusing on the entertainment of younger visitors.

Thankfully, there is Paradise Point Resort and Spa in San Diego, a luxury resort hotel designed with the whole family’s needs in mind. The resort is located on a 44-acre island within San Diego’s Mission Bay, just a few miles from SeaWorld. As you enter the resort it is impossible not to be captivated by the lavishly landscaped grounds with palm trees and fountains everywhere you turn. The resort plays to its location with an island theme, transporting guests to a tropical paradise.

The resort has five separate pools, including an adult-only pool for those who either don’t have children or want some alone time. There is also a waterfall pool, which heightens the island theme of the resort.

While San Diego has more than its fair share of fun, family-friendly attractions, there is so much to do at the resort, you may not want to leave. In addition to hotel standards like a fitness center and a spa, you can also play golf on the putting course, shoot some hoops and swing a racket on the basketball and tennis courts, or play a little Bocce ball, croquet or ping pong.

Guests can rent bicycles to ride around the beautiful gardens of the property or rent a boat for use within the bay. Enjoy the sunny, beachfront location by taking surf lessons during your stay or enjoy a bonfire on the beach — simply reserve a pit and pick up everything you’ll need from the resort’s Island Market to roast marshmallows while the waves gently crash against the shore.

In addition to the many activities kids will enjoy during their stay, they can also take part in the Island Adventure Club on Friday and Saturday nights 5–9 p.m., giving them some kid time while mom and dad get some adult time. The club offers supervised activities designed just for kids aged 4 and up, like games, scavenger hunts and roasting marshmallows. The club also includes dinner for your little ones, giving you the perfect opportunity for a romantic dinner for two in paradise.

The beachfront location and incredible opportunities for fun at this luxury resort make sure the entire family will enjoy San Diego and want to return year after year.
